The leaves can grow to be beyond a foot long depending on the light intensity and are usually about half an inch wide. In Drosera capensis, the head is mostly composed of the outer digestive gland cells (ODGC) and the inner digestive gland cells (IDGC; Williams and Pickard, 1974; Outenreath and Dauwalder, 1982).
